What is Content?
Site content is the Content of its web pages. That is, what the user sees on the resource pages. Is it that comes in the following formats: text, graphics, video, audio.
Site contents – any information posted on it. Most often, it is understood as text content, less often – video and audio materials. Without high-quality and regularly updated content, it is almost impossible to improve the efficiency of your online business and bring your site to the top of search rankings.
On the web, you can find sites in different directions, and their contents will also differ. For example, for an information portal or blog, these will be articles. And for a photographer’s site – galleries with photographs. For video hosting – video. For the music portal – audio recordings, tracks.
It is important not to confuse (semantic сontent) with design elements, interface, widgets. For example, a picture posted in an article is content. But the background image of the site is a design element.
What is Content used for?
Many experts still separate marketing, educational, informational and entertainment content. But listen, the purpose of all it is to sell. Sell a product, sell yourself as a great author, sell a new media resource to a multimillion audience. Selling text should be informative, educational, and a little entertaining. All of these characteristics are related to interesting сontent.
They also say that it can be unique and non-unique, as well as free and paid. So there is no non-unique contents: there is plagiarism and copy-paste, which should not be on your site.
Content – needed to grab the attention of a potential customer (user, visitor, reader …). In this case, it is better not to limit yourself to just one type of contents, as each of the options (text, video, photos, images, product descriptions …) helps to achieve certain goals. However, in order to find potential website visitors or customers, the contents needs to used responsibly, neatly, and purposefully.
